NEW SITE! De Chiel Firearms WordPress Website Design (example: $397 WordPress Special)

WordPress website design for De Chiel Firearms. De Chiel Firearms is a San Diego-based Discount firearms dealer who needed a great site design solution on a budget…a PERFECT candidate for a WordPress solution. This project included NO graphic or logo design. (Though I did use a header banner I created using a photo of the owner’s beloved Douglas A-1 “Spad” airplane…a craft he lovingly flew in his service days along with a photo of an aged rendition of his family’s crest. So a LITTLE design, though I didn’t really charge for it.) Like many other small business sites, De Chiel original/former

Humor: COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT

This one came from my buddy August (“Gus”) Boyd in San Diego: ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks I’m setting up an office in my den and I’m thinking about buying a computer. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: No, the name’s Lou. ABBOTT: Your computer? COSTELLO: I don’t own a computer. I want to buy one. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: I told you, my name’s Lou. ABBOTT: What about Windows? COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here? ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows? COSTELLO: I don’t know. What will I see when I look at

DON’T “CHARLIE SHEEN” YOUR BUSINESS!

DON'T "CHARLIE SHEEN" YOUR BUSINESS!

Written by Edward A. Sanchez Brass Ring Multimedia IS YOUR BUSINESS LIKE CHARLIE’S LIFE…going downhill? Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. I’ve gotta tell you, I like the guy…always have…it’s tough not to on some level. He’s got chops, he’s definitely a talented guy and Two And A Half Men is one of those shows I can always watch. Hot Shots, Wall Street, the list goes on…very cool. But, lately? (oy!) One of the habits I’ve learned to employ is that of looking inward whenever something “out there” irks me. (Like Charlie’s Vatican Assassin dive-bomb into hell.) I discovered long ago that I

Edward And His Chucks Out In The World

Edward And His Chucks Out In The World

Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star shoes…I have a few. This started out as one picture of ONE pair of Chucks in a cool setting and it took on a life of its own. When I posted them on FaceBook, I was encouraged to show them to Converse. I could be like that “Where the Hell Is Matt?” guy on YouTube who dances all over the world.  Maybe I could travel the world and take pictures of different patterned Chuck Taylor All-Stars in all sorts of exotic places. The possibilities are endless! Have you SEEN how many Chucks are available? You can

Humor: Cute Senior Comedy

A little silver-haired lady calls her neighbor and says, “Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can’t figure out how to get started.” Her neighbor asks, “What is it supposed to be when it’s finished?” The little silver haired lady says, “According to the picture on the box, it’s a rooster.” Her neighbor decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then

La Jolla Coastline Digital Image (for La Jolla Meals On Wheels Home Page)

I created this image for La Jolla Meals On Wheels. Wanting a soft, impressionistic feel, I used some of the artistic filters, etc. in Adobe Photoshop, one of my favorite playthings. Click on the image to see it enlarged and you’ll better see the “painterly” effect. (Thanks to the La Jolla Light newspaper for providing the original photograph on which this image is based.)

ALL 50 Corvette Business Cards

ALL 50 Corvette Business Cards

This has been a favorite project of mine. I enjoyed participating in Ray Ehly, Jr.’s roadtrip. He took museum delivery (at the Corvette Museum adjacent to the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky) of a brand-new, top of the line Corvette Z06. He then drove it in ONE CONTINOUS loop to “ALL 50” United States. (Yes, Hawaii and Alaska too.) You can read all about it on the site I did for Ray in 2003. Check out “Ray’s Journal” for day-by-day details and images from this amazing adventure: www.All50Corvette.com As Ray rolled on throughout his trip…and to this day, he needed

Sundiata Kata Productions is the business incarnation of San Diego legend Mr. Sundiata Kata. Sundiata, music & performing arts director at the San Diego Center for Children, is a well-loved musician and educator who helps people through the healing power of music. My daughter and I met Sundiata and his family, when they facilitated a drumming circle at a family camp we attended through a local hospice organization. (Hospice of The North Coast) A relationship developed with these nice people and helping him present his drumming presentations to corporate and other entities who wanted to take advantage of the healing and

Norma-Jean Strickland, Copywriter & Consultant Website Design

Website design for copywriter & writing consultant Norma-Jean Strickland. Contemporary, yet retro and time-less design focus on antique typewriter keys and graphic featuring the word “idea” along with a background which shows words winding in an around each other. Norma-Jean (as am I) is a “purple fan,” hence the tinting. I’m quite fond and proud of this design.

Web design for Norma-Jean Strickland, voice-over artist. “NJ” brought me a caricature drawn by artist Joe Schmidt, and wished it to feature prominently in her website design. Home page navigation features comic-book style “word bubbles” and a dynamic “burst” on the vintage microphone calls up a pop-window with voice samples.

“Ron J” Jones Website Design

"Ron J" Jones Website Design

One of the great things about being me is that I specialize in serving the community of La Jolla, California where I grew up.  As such, I get to work with my friends and neighbors. One such friend is Mr. “Ron J” Jones, popular and very active La Jolla community members. Ron is a long-time dear friend and I enjoyed the opportunity to help him present his company, Allegro Entertainment and himself online. Though Ron’s “CD-trola” (my term) design was already created before I entered the project, it became my task to create a web design around that focal point.
