I’ve been a website designer for a lot of years and a writer (of sorts) for much longer. Like many of us, I considered myself a fairly decent writer. Nowadays, that’s just not enough. In the world of the web, you must be mindful that you are providing useful content. This doesn’t mean mere descriptive text…it means effective text content.

In order to be effective your website design must contain effective copy written for TWO audiences: your human website visitors (first) and also the little search engine “bots.” (These are robot programs sent out by Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. They index the internet in the process of determining search engine rankings.)
