Our client is the creator of innovative firearms accessories. They needed a website that not only highlights their cutting-edge products and designs but also makes it easy for customers to shop and buy directly from the site.
The Situation
The client had worked with two different developers for two separate product lines…one using a proprietary CMS, and another on WordPress, but things weren’t going smoothly. The websites were tough for them to manage, and the client and their team were feeling frustrated.
Sales had dropped, and the developer relationship wasn’t helping matters. The main staff member working with the site needed access and proper training to manage both the website and the store efficiently. What they really needed was a fresh, easy-to-use website, training and coaching so that their business could thrive again. Client also needed to take advantage of their email list to stay in touch with clients and put out information on new products and innovations.
Challenges Involved
Proprietary nature of CMS client had previously paid for and the souring of their relationship with the developer made the process difficult. Our client had numerous products with variations that needed showcasing and set-up in a new store environment. The already high level of frustration among the individuals involved with the website and the previous development team, at times, led to a somewhat hostile development environment.
The Solution – How We Helped
We set up a new WordPress site on the client’s fresh hosting, using a flexible, feature-packed theme that allowed for great styling and functionality. We prioritized security, with auto-backups in place. The site was built with both existing and new content, and we integrated WooCommerce for smooth store management. Plus, we made sure the team had easy access with WordPress’s login system and provided training for effortless site management.
We also set up a new Constant Contact email account, migrated their email list and set-up a custom template for them to use when contacting their customers.
Outcome
The new site is dynamic, showcasing the client’s cutting-edge technology and story, while driving product sales. WooCommerce powers the store, handling orders, product variations, sales tax, and shipping automatically—making purchases seamless for customers.
